Onukwubiri who spoke to journalists on Wednesday after both countries agreed to lift the ban, said the development would improve the economies of both countries and strengthen the bilateral relationship that exists between both nations.
According to him, lifting of the visa ban on Nigerian travellers will open a new vista of interest in trade and investments, as well as in the tourism sector.
“As a travelling agency, we are pleased by the role President Bola Tinubu played in quickly ensuring that the visa travel ban placed on Nigerian travellers to the United Arab Emirates is lifted.
“The ban affected the economic interests of both countries and put many Nigerians who have businesses in the UAE in difficult conditions. Both country’s interests in trade and investments, security and tourism will now be strengthened by this good news.
“Many Nigerians whose business transactions were put on hold because of the ban will now dust their visas and their files and resume their businesses. This is a big economic growth for Nigeria as a country and its citizens.
“Just check the opportunities lost in agriculture, tourism, trade, investments, peace and security since the travel ban was placed. Consider the threat to the bilateral relationship between both countries. You will understand that President Bola Tinubu deserved commendation for working effortlessly to see to the lifting of the travel ban”, Onukwubiri said.
Onukwubiri advised Nigerian travellers to the UAE and other countries to always consider the image and the integrity of the country while sojourning in foreign lands.
