The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Bayelsa State, has declared that it was not involved in the killing of a Naval rating during elections in the State.
The party was reacting to a statement where the PDP had accused it of sponsoring thugs that killed the Naval rating.
In a statement sent to DAILY POST on Sunday, by Doifie Buokoribo, the State APC Publicity Secretary the party said, “We have seen a statement issued by the Bayelsa State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) entitled: ‘PDP condemns murder of Naval rating by APC thugs in Brass, Bayelsa.’
“In the statement issued on Sunday, 10 March 2019, the PDP falsely accused our party of murdering one Naval personnel on election duty last Saturday in the Brass Island.
“The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State did not kill any Naval rating on Election Day.
“We have no reason to kill for power. We are not a party of desperate people.
“The Naval authorities have not told anyone that one of their men was murdered on Election Day. It is only the Navy that can account for its men.
“We know that the PDP and its leadership in Bayelsa State have an established notoriety for lying and fake news.
“But this latest claim must rank as the lowest of the low. The PDP needs to understand that even lying has its limits.”
