The Young CEO Initiative has called for the creation of a ministry for young entrepreneurs to boost Small and Medium Scale enterprises in Nigeria.
The founder of the initiative, Mr Aigbe Omorege, who stated this on Monday in Benin, Edo State, said the creation of the ministry had become necessary to relate directly to young CEOs and drive the spirit of entrepreneurship which the country was known for.
According to Omorege, young entrepreneurs employ the highest number of workers, thereby generating the highest amount of revenue as far as the country’s Gross Domestic Progress is concerned.
He said, “We, the young CEOs, are calling the creation of a ministry for young entrepreneurs to boost Small and Medium-scale enterprises in Nigeria.
“Also, we want the President to instruct the Central Bank of Nigeria to make public the currency swap agreements between the CBN and the Republic of China Central Bank so that our people can leverage on this.
“If we know this early enough or this is made public, it helps to reduce the stress of sourcing for dollars.”
Omorege, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Intercontinental Paint, urged President Bola Tinubu to as a matter of urgency create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
