The 22-year-old, who has also become the third female contestant to win the show, was announced as the winner on October 1.
The season 8 edition of the show witnessed some exciting turns and twists, with housemate Ilebaye beating Mercy Eke, CeeC, Cross, Adekunle, and Pere to emerge the winner of the N120,000,000 prize money, amongst other gifts.
Here are seven highlights from this season of the show:
(1) Grand Prize
This season’s prize saw an extra N20m increase from last year’s N100m grand prize. The winner in the 2023 season of the reality TV show took home a whopping N120m.
(2) Housemates
The cast for the ‘all stars’ edition, which premiered on Sunday evening, July 13, 2023, featured 20 ex-housemates: Pere, CeeC, Alex, Kiddwaya, Mercy, Tbaj, Angel, Neo, Alex, Cross, Seyi, Whitemoney, Uriel, Doyin, Princess, Soma, Ike, Adekunle, Venita and Ilebaye.
(3)Eviction Jury
Organisers introduced a few twists in this season of the show, one of which is the introduction of an eviction jury, comprising former housemates tasked with deciding which housemate nominated for eviction that week stays or leaves.
This elimination method was eventually cancelled by organisers following the backlash that followed the eviction of some housemates netizens deemed unfair.
Some jury members were Mike, Saskay, Bisola, Dorathy, Elozonam and Vee.
(4)Ex-lovers, Foes Reunite
Fans of the reality show did not know what to expect from ex-lovers Mercy Eke and Ike and ex-friends Alex and Cee-C’s stay in the house as all four made headlines for weeks following the end of the seasons they partook in.
All four were cordial upon reuniting for this season of the reality TV show.
(5) First Head Of House
Adekunle Olopade, known simply as Adekunle, emerged as this season’s head of the house, earning him immunity from eviction that week.
(6) Black Envelope Challenge
Mercy won the first ‘black envelope challenge,’ a new twist introduced by organisers granting any housemate who finds it immunity from eviction that week.
(7)New houseguests
Biggie introduced four ‘house guests’ to his ‘Biggieverse’ in persons of ex-Big Brother Naija housemates Lucy, Prince, Kim Oprah, and Omashola.
