A popular jazz singer, Yinka Davies, has said that male and female children should be treated equally.
Speaking against the backdrop of the International Day of the Girl Child, which was marked on October 11, 2023, Davies told Sunday Scoop, “The government needs total overhauling (as regards helping boys and girls to be treated equally). That responsibility belongs to the community.”
Speaking on the challenges the daughters face, the entertainer said, “To truly care for children, either male or female, and be accountable for every outcome of choice, conversations should have a strong impact on the child.”
Addressing the notion held by some that women who give birth through caesarean section are not ‘women enough,’ Davies said, “We are all wired differently. How a pint-sized woman would give birth naturally but, a massive-sized madam can’t help it but have a caesarean section beats me.”
