Kenneth Okonkwo, a spokesperson for the Labour Party (LP) presidential campaign council has maintained that the 2023 presidential election was not credible.
According to him, the verdict of the Supreme Court on the 2023 presidential election, only gave the government of President Bola Tinubu constitutionality and not democracy.
He noted that democracy derives its powers from the people but in the case of the Tinubu presidency, it is not a government of the people.
Speaking on Friday during an interview appearance on Arise TV in which he reacted to the verdict of the Supreme Court which affirmed President Tinubu’s victory at the polls and at the tribunal, Okonkwo held that the judgement of the apex court went the way of Tinubu because the judges didn’t have any alternative results to base their arguments upon except the one presented by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He accused INEC of ‘manufacturing’ the results of the 2023 presidential election and forcing the same on Nigerians.
Okonkwo further questioned how petitioners could have produced polling unit results to defend their allegation of improper voting when INEC itself could not follow the provisions of the law in uploading results to the portal electronically despite the massive allocation of resources for that purpose.
The LP chieftain said further that the credibility of the 2023 election will forever be tarnished and personally, his confidence in the 2023 election was destroyed by the verdict of the Supreme Court.
