The youth were seen at the Government House entrance, singing solidarity songs, saying they would not allow any impeachment to stand.
Speaking with our correspondent, the Information Officer of the Ijaw Youths Council, Eastern Zone, George Benjamin, said there should be peace in the state.
Benjamin also condemned the suspension of the House leader, Edison Edison, by some lawmakers earlier on Monday.
He said, “All we pray is peace. If truly there is any plan to impeach anyone, I condemn the act because Edison as the leader of the House has not done anything wrong.
“So we are calling for peace and let there be dialogue. We stand with the governor, that is why we are here. Let there be peace in Rivers State”, he submitted.
