The Ogun State Police Command has arrested 32-year-old Gbenga Kolawole for allegedly raping a drunk 16-year-old girl in Adubi, Abeokuta.
The police also disclosed that its officers attached to Sango Divisional Police headquarters had successfully recovered a blue colour Toyota RAV4 SUV with registration number MUS 580 JA which belonged to one Elogie Polycarp.
The spokesperson of the state police command, SP Omolola Odutola, made this known in a statement made available to journalists on Friday.
The statement partly read, “Following a report from an aggrieved mother that her 16 years old daughter who got drunk during an annual church anniversary celebration on the 6th of November 2023 in Adubi Ogun State, and was taken by her to a nearby bar shop and locked there, became victim to one Gbenga Kolawole ‘m’ 32 years who had unlawful carnal knowledge of the drunk girl.
“He was however caught in the act by one Sunday Ibrahim ‘m’ of the same address. The victim has been taken to Ore Ofe Hospital for medical attention and treatment while the suspect has been arrested for preliminary investigation.”
In a separate development, the Divisional Police Officer in Sango successfully recovered a Toyota car that was reported stolen from a car park in Gbagada, Lagos State, by unknown thieves.
