The Federal Government has charged all heads of information and communication technology agencies and other professionals in the sector to develop an effective standard framework that will bring IT solutions to support the government, private sector, and society.
This was contained in a statement on Monday by the Head of the press and Public Relations Unit of the ministry, Ekaete Umo.
The Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, gave this charge during the National Council on ICT in Ministries, Departments, and Agencies held in Abuja.
During his keynote address, Tijani underscored the importance of technology as the bedrock of economic competitiveness and its significant role in proffering solutions to myriad societal challenges.
‘’Any government without technology and without prioritizing the applications of technology cannot provide service to its people in an effective way.’’ He said.
Tijani added that if the government cannot use technology appropriately, the private sector will not be able to operate maximally.
He, therefore, called on the council members to know that the future of Nigeria and the dreams of having a better country is dependent on the critical roles they play in their various organisations.
Tijani said that the interest and desire of the president is to see a Nigeria that is developed and having inclusive growth.
He added that if the country and all the ministers in the various ministries will be successful, the drivers in ICT must understand their role.
