In a bid to fortify defences against the rising tide of cyber threats, SafeOnline, an initiative under Co-Creation Hub Nigeria (CcHUB), hosted a comprehensive SecureMedia Digital Security training programme.
Day one of this intensive programme delved into critical facets of digital security, covering a scope of topics crucial to combating cyber threats in today’s interconnected world.
The training provided a comprehensive overview of digital security, including discussions on cyber terms, cyber attacks, their effects, digital threats, social engineering tactics, and the importance of securing social media platforms. With cyber attacks becoming increasingly sophisticated and prevalent, the initiative aimed to equip participants with practical knowledge and tools to bolster their digital defences.
Wuraola Taiwo, Project Manager, CCHub’s Digital Security, and Musa Sani, a cyber threat intelligence professional, emphasised the significance of understanding cyber terms and recognising various forms of cyber attacks, highlighting their potential impact on individuals, businesses, and institutions. Participants were provided insights into the evolving landscape of digital threats, underscoring the need for proactive measures to mitigate risks.
Moreover, the session shed light on the delicateness of social engineering tactics, emphasising the importance of vigilance and knowledge in thwarting attempts to exploit human vulnerabilities in digital environments. In particular, securing social media platforms was a focal point, given their ever-present usage and susceptibility to privacy breaches and data exploitation.
The SecureMedia training, a part of CcHUB’s commitment to fostering a safer digital ecosystem, saw active participation from journalists, media creators, right groups, and individuals keen on enhancing their digital security posture.
As cyber threats continue to evolve, initiatives suchc as SecureMedia Digital Security Training stand as crucial pillars in fortifying our collective defence against malicious digital incursions. SafeOnline and CcHUB reiterated their dedication to advancing digital literacy and resilience in the face of an ever-evolving cyber landscape.
The SecureMedia digital security training, a Co-creation Hub project, marks a vital step in the ongoing efforts to empower individuals and organisations with the knowledge and tools needed to navigate the digital world safely. As cyber threats persist in their complexity, initiatives like these serve as essential shields for safeguarding our digital realms.
