An International education company, Laprinxo Consult, has said collaboration with stakeholders is one of the solutions to challenges in the international education industry in Africa.
Speaking in an interview with The PUNCH, Programme Coordinator, The InterNational Education Africa Summit and Awards, Louis Adekola, explained that it was important for practitioners and stakeholders within the international education industry in Africa to constantly come together to learn from one another, share best practices, network, collaborate beyond borders, celebrate excellence, and get inspired for better accomplishments.
He said, “As this industry continues to grow, so also are some challenges attached to this market expansion. Some of these include the rising case of fraudulent documentation, infiltration by dubious individuals, the existence of fake study abroad companies, visa issues faced by African students, and the fact that there are limited professional development opportunities for student counsellors and in-country staff of overseas institutions.
“It is, therefore, important for practitioners and stakeholders, within the international education industry in Africa to constantly come together to learn from one another, share best practices, network, collaborate beyond borders, celebrate excellence, and get inspired for better accomplishments.”
Adekola added that it was, for this reason, the TINE Africa Summit was inaguarated.
He revealed that it would be a convergence of study-abroad practitioners in Africa and other stakeholders within the international education industry.
“This year’s event marks the maiden edition of TINE Africa Summit & Awards, and it is scheduled to be held as follows between 7th and 8th December 2023 in Ikeja, Lagos.
“The theme is ‘Thinking Ahead: Envisioning the Future of International Education in Sub-Saharan Africa.’”
