Governor Soludo shared this information on his X account, accompanied by photos from the Ooni’s visit.
In his post, Soludo expressed the honour he felt in hosting the revered monarch at the Governor’s Lodge in Amawbia, Akwa, on Friday.
Sharing photos from the Ooni’s visit, he said, “It was a moment of great honour to host His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia.
“The visit of such a revered monarch was a profound and cherished occasion, steeped in the rich traditions and wisdom of our nation.
“In our discussions, I was deeply moved by the Ooni’s unwavering commitment to being a bridge builder, fostering connections and understanding amongst diverse communities. I was presented with a stunning bronze carving, a gift of great significance from the Ooni.
“This exquisite piece, depicting a hunter standing resolutely on a rock, symbolises the strength and resilience that we, as leaders, must embody as we navigate the complexities of governance. It is evident that traditional institutions, such as his, provide a stabilising force for our nation, serving as pillars of unity and harmony.”
