The airline had, at the Dubai Airshow in 2021, signed for the delivery of 10 brand new aircraft from Airbus during the tenure of former Governor Udom Emmanuel.
The former governor who is also Ibom Air Founder, alongside top management, inspected and officially accepted the aircraft, over the weekend.
Airbus executives, including CEO Benoit Schultz and Vice-President Daniel Wenninger, led the handover ceremony in the presence of Ibom Air’s Managing Director, Captain Mfon Udom, and COO, Mr. George Uriesi.
The founder highlighted the significance, noting Ibom Air as the first Nigerian airline to integrate the advanced Airbus A220 into its fleet.
He commended the sustained efforts of Governor Umo Eno in advancing the state’s aviation development project.
The Airbus A220-300, acclaimed for its fuel efficiency, cutting-edge technology, and passenger-centric features, has a range of up to 3,450 nautical miles, ideal for short to medium-haul commercial operations.
With this addition, Ibom Air positions itself as a key player in West African and African aviation, poised to expand its services across diverse destinations on the continent.
