Oladiyun made his position known in a statement made available to journalists on Tuesday ahead of the church’s 25th anniversary with the theme, ‘A mission fulfilled, a vision renewed.’
The cleric also called for the complete re-writing of the nation’s constitution and not amendment.
“I believe in regional government, every region has something to give to the centre, and we need to re-write our Constitution and not just amend,” he said.
He said many aspects of the nation’s governance needed to be re-evaluated.
“So many things must be re-evaluated, we have too many people in governance, doing nothing. When you ask them to discuss issues about governance in the country, they can’t do so intelligently and that is the reason the youth are not encouraged about the country,” he added.
Oladiyun also called on the Federal Government to improve the harsh economy by increasing the Purchasing Power Parity of the country in the international market.
He explained that the revenues from the fiscal policy of the nation were being mismanaged.
He added, “If we want our economy to be right, we need to increase our Purchasing Power Parity in the international market. We have 774 Local Government Areas in Nigeria, let’s do an audit of these LGAs and see what they produce.
“Let’s help them package their products and take them from the LGAs to the states and from the states we take them to the international market then we begin to earn in dollars.
“This means we have to start by looking into Local Government reforms. Also, what we make from our fiscal policy is more than enough to take care of us but the mismanagement of this income is our albatross.”
