Fast-rising Nigerian boxer Adeyemi Opeyemi trained with unbeaten Rilwan Oladosu at the Caicedo Sports Training Center in Miami, Florida as he prepared for his boxing debut in the United States of America, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The 23-year-old Opeyemi, who holds a record of nine wins in 10 fights, and one draw will be eager to add to his seven knockouts when he faces experienced Mexican boxer Ernesto Guerrero on December 8th in Orlando, Florida.
This will be Opeyemi’s first fight in the USA as all his previous fights have been in Nigeria with eight held in Lagos and two in Ibadan.
31-year-old Oladosu who was seen in the video posted on Instagram training the young boxer has never fought outside Nigeria but his career total of 19 fights with no loss or draws make him a good mentor for Opeyemi.
A knockout specialist, Oladosu, won 11 of his 19 bouts by KOs and in the video, he was using the rubbers to train Opeyemi on his check-up and balancing skills ahead of the fight against an experienced threat.
The Mexican boxer, Guerrero, has fought 74 times with 34 victories and 40 defeats and would be keen to school the young Nigerian in the bout in America.
Opeyemi’s speed and knockout technique should be too much for the 34-year-old as he eyes a winning debut in Florida in this new phase of his career as he fights under Lewis Boxing Promotions.
