The five suspects are Adeniran Femi, Ishaya Christopher, Obigi Emeka, Fatokun Ayodele and Abdullahi Saliu.
A pump action gun, one locally-made double barrel shotgun, two locally-made pistols, one Beretta pistol, 15 live ammunition, cartridges, an axe, 12 cutlasses, mobile phones, a bag containing uniforms of security agencies and a Mazda car which contains some of the exhibits were recovered from them.
Meanwhile, the FCT Commissioner of Police, Haruna Garba, has warned against any form of disturbance of public peace, unlawful assembly, and criminal infiltration of lawful assemblies within the nation’s capital.
In a statement on Wednesday, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh noted that the CP gave the warning while confirming the arrest of the five suspects in connection with the attempted infiltration of the November 30, 2023 NANS convention to disrupt the process.
She further noted that the investigation is being intensified while efforts are ongoing to arrest other suspects still at large.
Adeh said, “The suspects were promptly intercepted by security operatives, some of whom were handed over to the police by the Department of State Services.
“The suspects are Adeniran Femi, Ishaya Christopher, Obigi Emeka, Fatokun Ayodele and Abdullahi Saliu. Exhibits recovered from them include a pump action gun, one locally made double barrel shotgun, two locally made pistols, one Beretta pistol, 15 live ammunition, cartridges, an axe, 12 cutlasses, mobile phones, a bag containing uniforms of security agencies and a Mazda car with Reg No. RBC909DP which contains some of the exhibits.”
