He made the appeal on Friday during his visit to the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Yikpata in the Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State.
While addressing the 2023 Batch ‘C’ Stream 2 corps members undergoing orientation course in the camp, the director said “Losing one child to the cold hand of an automobile accident while on national service due to an unnecessary night journey is the most disheartening experience parents could ever imagine.”
He therefore enjoined them to resist any form of temptation or pressure that could warrant them embarking on a night journey.
The NYSC boss also encouraged the corps members to accept their posting in good faith, explaining that the purpose of the service to their fatherland is to impact their various host communities in the best way necessary.
He therefore advised them to focus on the positive track they must make through the instrument of Community Development Service, CDS.
Aremu-Cole who expressed his passion for community development, youth empowerment, as well as human capital development therefore gave the corps members free access to approach him for needed assistance in their quest to achieve the national goals.
Earlier, the state coordinator of NYSC Kwara, Mr Onifade Olaoluwa, stressed the need for the corps members to religiously adhere to the director’s instructions.
Onifade added that the director has mentored many youths and close associates to achieve their set goals.
