The Transmission Company of Nigeria says it has taken delivery of seven new power transformers and their accessories at its Akangba 330/132 Kilo Volt Transmission Substation in Lagos.
The company’s General Manager, Public Affairs, Mrs Ndidi Mbah, said in a statement in Abuja on Thursday, that the transformers’ capacities range from 60 Mega Volt Ampere to 100MVA.
Mbah stated that the transformers were part of the ongoing TCN/World Bank power project, adding that they would be distributed to Alausa 132/33kV transmission substation, and Akoka 132/33kV transmission substation, Maryland.
She listed other substations that the transformers would be delivered to as the Itire 132/33kV transmission substation and Amuwo 132/33kV transmission substation, among others.
She said that “while the above-listed substations will receive one transfer each, the Akoka 132/33kV substation and
Amuwo 132/33kV substation will receive two transformers each.
“When installed, the transformers will substantially increase the company’s power transmission capacity.”
