Governor of Osun State, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola has eulogised the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, as the revered royal father celebrates his 45th birthday, describing him as an embodiment of knowledge with consciousness for National issues.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Ismail Omipidan, the copy which was made available to pressmen in Osogbo, the Osun State capital on Thursday.
Oyetola added that the monarch has distinguished himself for being consistent in his quality contributions to national discourse on issues of contemporary importance since ascending the throne.
He also described Ooni as a versatile source of intervention in the nation’s contemporary challenges, saying the monarch is a critical partner of government on issues of governance and development.
He said: “On this auspicious occasion of your birthday anniversary, I join your family, friends and well-wishers to thank Almighty God for your life which has been marked by outstanding accomplishments and
enduring contributions to national discourse.
“Your royal interventions are notable in entrepreneurship, youth engagement, scholarships and agriculture where you have regularly deployed your means and influence to impact the people on an annual basis. You are a pride to the Royal Institution and the State of Osun. We cannot thank you enough.
“On behalf of my family, the government and people of The State of Osun, I congratulate you and pray that the Almighty God give you wisdom, peace and happiness. Enjoy this day to the fullest! Happy birthday to you’.
In the same vein , the governor has congratulated the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, on the occasion of his 81st birthday anniversary.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ismael Omipidan, the governor said the monarch is a strong believer in progressive ideals, who has remained true to his conviction over the years.
While describing the monarch as a humble and amiable traditional ruler who belongs to the class of his own, Oyetola further said the Yoruba race is proud of Alaafin’s intellectual prowess and his commitment to the cause of the Yoruba race.
“On behalf of the Government and People of The State of Osun, I felicitate with Iku Baba Yeye, one of the youngest octogenarians, and wish him happy birthday and many more years of the good life and service to the Yoruba race, Nigeria and humanity at large in sound health and vitality,” the governor said.
