An actress and movie producer, Idowu Akinsade, is of the opinion that women are taking over the movie industry.
In a statement sent to Saturday Beats, she asserted, “Women are taking over and achieving tremendous success in the industry, and that makes me so happy.
“The sky is no longer the limit, but the starting point, and many amazons have proven that, especially in recent times. I am optimistic that things will get even better.”
The actress, who recently released her latest movie titled, ‘Omo Sekinat’, which was directed by Okiki Afolayan, urged her fans to expect even more from her.
She noted that the movie, which features Mide Martins, Lateef Adedimeji, Remi Surutu, Itele, Laide Bakare and Omolara Kasali, delves into themes of betrayal, wickedness, forgiveness, payback, and the timeless concept of what goes around comes around.
According to her, since its release, the movie has been captivating audiences on Yoruba Plus TV’s YouTube channel, garnering attention for its compelling narrative and stellar performances.
Admitting that there were challenges in the industry, she was determined to continue her passion for filmmaking.
Akinsade added that that her multifaceted career did not stop in the movie industry, as she also manages a kitchen and catering service in Maryland, USA. This, she said, is in addition to her role as a social worker.
