About 600 students drawn from 20 secondary schools in Ejigbo Local Government Area of Osun State on Friday received free West African Senior School Certificate Examination and Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination registration forms.
Presenting the beneficiaries with their forms, the financier of the initiative, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Ayodele Asalu, said he was motivated to purchase the forms for the students to lessen the financial burden on their parents and guardians.
Asalu said 350 students got free JAMB forms, while 250 others got free WAEC registration forms.
He called on privileged Nigerians to come to the aid of the less privileged to relieve effects of the harsh economy on them, noting that such gesture would go a long way in fostering peace and harmony in the society.
He said, “I believe very strongly in citizen participation to achieve development. Government at all levels cannot be left alone to do all that our society requires to grow and thus, individuals like myself, who are privileged, must make important personal contributions to the development of people and communities.
“350 students are getting free JAMB registration forms while 250 others will get free WAEC registration forms.”
He enjoined Nigerians to be patient with President Bola Tinubu, noting that the administration was embarking on different reforms that would reposition Nigeria for real growth and development.
