A Nigerian woman, Joy Chinwenmeri Onwubuariri, who, after meeting her fiancé on Facebook, became engaged to him, has counseled unmarried women to constantly read and respond to their direct messages.
Joy claims that two years ago, her fiancé sent her a direct message, but she chose to ignore him after reading it.
They subsequently became friends after he left a comment on a video she had uploaded to her Facebook story.
She wrote;
“He was my follower for 4 years, sent me a dm 2 years ago. I read it and ignored. I no know Wetin carry me post dance video for fb story. He left a comment again and we started gisting and we became friends,” she wrote in a Facebook post on Sunday, February 11, 2024.
