Bandits have killed four people at Ikobi in the Apa Local Government Area of Benue State in a renewed attack.
The incident, according to a community leader, Atule Amodu, happened on Wednesday night.
The bandits were reported to have invaded the sleepy village where they killed four people.
Speaking to journalists on the phone on Thursday, Pa Amodu said, “This place is called Ikobi but it is the outskirts. The bandits came in silently and caught the people unawares and began to kill them.
“They killed four persons and injured one. Their modus operandi is that they come around every other day and when they come they will be patrolling with their cattle.”
A legal practitioner from the area, Eche Akpoko, who is also the chairman of a socio-cultural group known as Apa Development Association, said he received a report of the attack by bandits.
He added, “As of this morning, I was told that four bodies were recovered.”
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in Benue State, Catherine Anene, said that she had yet to receive the report.
