Popular comedian and actor, Bright Okpocha, better known as Basketmouth, has blamed himself for causing the nation’s inflation and other persistent issues.
The stand-up comedian responded sarcastically to a netizen who had recently attacked him, claiming that he was contributing to the issue in Nigeria.
He said that the comedian had scheduled a gig for Election Day instead of going out to vote.
“Did Basketmouth vote for good governance on election day? Basketmouth that had a show slated for 25th Feb 2023. He is part of Nigeria’s problem,” the tweep stated.
In response, Basketmouth acknowledged that he was the cause of the issues currently plaguing the country, including the high cost of the dollar.
He wrote;
“Oh yes!!! I guess I am really the problem!!
I’m the reason the $ is now N1,700 and counting.
I’m the one that keeps collapsing the power grid.
I’m the reason the refineries don’t work.
I’m the snake that swallowed $100,000.
I guess I am the one.”
