The suspects, Adamaka Chinyere, f, and Bolajoko Haruna, m, were observed by some community residents who alerted the police.
The police operatives later moved to the community, unnoticed, and apprehended the duo.
This was disclosed by the state Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, in a tweet shared via his X handle on Wednesday.
He wrote, “Let’s teach our children not to follow strangers! Ikotun Police Division received information from community members about the presence of strange people moving around their neighbourhood suspiciously.
“The police moved in discreetly, quickly enough to rescue a female secondary school student they had tricked into their car and abducted.
“The suspects, Adamaka Chinyere and Bolajoko Haruna, have been arrested and their tinted Toyota Camry impounded. They are to be arraigned at the conclusion of the investigation.”
Hundeyin added that “the student has been reunited with her family.”
In another tweet, the PPRO noted that operatives from the Sabo Division, “while embarking on surveillance patrol, busted a drug dealer, Orji Isaac ‘m’ aged 67, while selling drugs to one Lekan Ganiyu ‘m’ aged 22.
“The duo will be arraigned at the conclusion of investigation. Say No to Drugs.”
Operatives of the state police command arrested one 45-year-old, Okoro, and one 42-year-old, Patience, in a ‘one chance’ robbery in Lagos.

It was also learnt that the robbers often pose as commercial bus drivers while abducting unsuspecting passengers to different locations to defraud them of their properties.
On Sunday, February 19, Chris Abu and Paul Philip were arrested for allegedly vandalising electricity cables belonging to the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company Plc.

A police source stated that a distress call was received from the Lagos State Electricity Board in Ikeja about the activities of vandals who specialise in vandalising electricity and armored cables.
