The President of the All Africa Music Awards, Mike Dada, has encouraged collaboration between Nigerian and other African artistes.
In a statement sent to Saturday Beats, Dada said, “Collaboration is very significant for the growth, development and promotion of the arts and music industry in Africa.”
Continuing his advocacy for unity and synergy among African musicians, Dada is set to share his insights at the launch of BridgeAfric’s Southern Africa initiative in Malawi on March 23, 2024.
With a thematic focus on the importance of nurturing collaboration within the African music community, Dada’s address will underscore the significance of collective efforts in propelling African music onto the global stage.
Commending BridgeAfric for its notable work in linking Malawian artistes with industry experts to enhance their careers and expand their reach, Dada expressed his unwavering commitment to supporting such initiatives that empower African artistes and showcase the diverse musical heritage of the continent.
He emphasised that through collaborative endeavours, a more vibrant and inclusive music industry could be cultivated to celebrate the talent and creativity of artistes from all corners of the continent.
Regarding AFRIMA’s annual music awards ceremony, Dada maintained that the platform was open to all Africans, including those from Malawi. Encouraging greater participation from Malawian artistes, he said, “AFRIMA is for Africans, and everybody is entitled to be part of it. Malawi is entitled to be part of it being an African country. If you are a Malawian, it is your right to be a part of it.”
