Femi Fani-Kayode, former minister of aviation has taken a swipe at the presidency over its recent statement mocking former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.
DAILY POST reports that the Presidency, on Saturday listed some people who “fooled” Atiku Abubakar, the 2019 Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate into believing he would become president of Nigeria.
President Muhammadu Buhari’s spokesperson, Femi Adesina pointed out that former President Olusegun Obasanjo and his “foreign cohorts” gave Atiku false sense of hope.
Adesina disclosed that marabouts, prophets, some pastors, preachers and witches and wizards formed a “confederacy” and said Atiku would win but which never happened.
In an article he signed and sent to DAILYPOST titled: “Atiku: They gave him a false sense of hope,” the presidential spokesperson also accused lawyers of the PDP presidential candidate of deceiving him into believing that he would emerge president of Nigeria.
But, Fani-Kayode reacting, expressed shock at Adesina’s article on Atiku.
He called on the Media office of Atiku to respond to the presidency’s statement which he described as ‘act of insolence’.
On his Twitter page, Fani-Kayode wrote: “I was amused when I read Pres. Advisor Femi Adesina’s piece this morning in which he mocked Atiku for losing the presidential election and the case at the Supreme Court.
“If they are still loyal and have the strength and zeal I would humbly suggest that the DG of Atiku’s Presidential Campaign Org. or the Director of Media or any of Atiku’s 8 Presidential Campaign spokesmen responds in very strong terms on his behalf to Femi Adesina’s and the Presidency’s insolence. This ought to be done for the record: they owe their principal that much.”
