When it comes to father-daughter relationship goals, actress, Bimbo Ademoye, and her father have been ‘serving it hot’ to fans.
Over the years, she has never held back her words or actions when it comes to celebrating her father. In a recent post, Ademoye took to her Instagram to celebrate her father, Adekunle, on his birthday on Thursday, June 13, 2024. While expressing her heartfelt love and appreciation for her father, she posted a video clip of her taking him on a date on social media.
She added the caption, “Breakfast with the birthday boy. Happy birthday to my heart and soul, my everything, my protector, my provider, my gatekeeper. My prayer warrior, my best friend, and my gossip partner.”
Reflecting on the significant impact her father has had on her life, Ademoye credited her father for her resilience, stating, “I honestly don’t know how my future husband would meet up, because he has big shoes to fill. I love so hard because of you. You said if you’re going to love someone, you might as well love them with your whole heart. I’m bulletproof, because of you. You told me, ‘Never let them see you sweat, pick yourself up, dust up and keep pushing’.”
Emphasising the values and morals her father instilled in her and her desire to pass them on to her kids, the actress said, “All your morals, I’ve been learning. It is a journey as I try walking in your shoes. However, one thing is guaranteed, I’d pass along all your messages to my kids, I would tell them ‘grandpops’ is the greatest of all time. I love you so much, and I’m willing to die for you, even though you hate to hear it. I’m so in love with being your daughter.”
However, that was not the first time that Ademoye had openly celebrated her father.
In May 2024, she stated that her dad was a major pillar of support for her after the first movie she produced titled, ‘Unexpected Places’, was shot and uploaded on her YouTube page. She wrote, “My dad wakes me up every day to give me updates on movie. He would tell me the number of people that had viewed it. Then, he would go out and tell people to watch the movie, so the views can keep increasing! I’m so blessed to have him.”
Also, when she won the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award in the ‘Best Actress in Comedy’ category, she took the award to her father the next day. She posted a video of herself visiting him and added the caption, “I went back home to give the award to my award, who is my biggest supporter, rock and backbone. My father actually took me to my first audition, and waited for six hours till I was done.”
However, though a lot is known about her father, she rarely talks about her mother. She stated that her mother abandoned her when she was just two years ago. In an interview with a media personality, Hauwa Magaji, the actress had said, “My mother is alive. She lives about 20 minutes away from me. We just don’t have a friendship. I do not talk about it, because I would love for people to respect that. I am a very private person. My mother left when I was two.
“My first ever betrayal came from my mother. We tried to rekindle the relationship because I did not get to know her.
“Right now, we have a relationship. I am doing my duty as a child. I pay for her rent and allowances. But, I am very okay with the no-friendship (relationship) we have for the sake of my mental health and sanity.”
