The newly appointed Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, Mr. Muhammad Nami and that of Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria, AMCON, Mr. Edward Adamu are to face Senate Committee screening for confirmation.
The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, has asked the Committee on Finance to begin screening and confirmation of the FIRS Chairman nominee, while the AMCON nominee will face the Committee on Banking, Insurance and other Financial Institutions.
The screening include 13 other members of the FIRS board within four weeks.
Nami will replace Mr. Tunde Fowler in the FIRS while Adamu will replace Muiz Banire at AMCON.
Both nominees were sent to the Senate for confirmation in an executive communication at the same time.
