Chairman/CEO Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, on Friday described the gruesome murder of a diasporan, Alh. Mutiu Agbosasa, in Ikorodu, Lagos as “saddening, disturbing, and shocking”.
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the late Agbosasa was reportedly killed by suspected hired assassins in his country home of Ikorodu, Lagos state on Tuesday after 45 years of his sojourn in the U.S.
Dabiri-Erewa described Agbosasa’s death as painful, callous and undeserving of the kind of person the deceased was.
The NIDCOM boss in a condolence message issued by the commission’s Head of Media and Public Relations Unit, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, condoled with the family of the deceased and prayed God to grant the members the fortitude to bear the loss.
“This is indeed sad. May Allah grant the family the fortitude to bear this loss, console them in the best manner and forgive the shortcomings of late Agbosasa by rewarding him with Al-janah Firdaus
“Everyone who knew him described Agbosasa as a devoted Muslim, kind, self-sacrificing, dedicated, easy-going, and a man of integrity.
“His position as a Chartered Accountant at the Metropolitan Hospital in Brooklyn, New York City, USA for 45 years, was a testament of his brilliant hard work,” She said.
She then urged security agencies to ensure that the killers of Agbosasa were tracked down and made to face the law so that it would serve as a deterrent to others.
