Nigerian music act Oladipo Olamide Emmanuel popularly known by fans as Chinko Ekun has shared a word of advice for his colleagues in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
In a couple of posts shared on the platform, Twitter, the Able God crooner approached the issue of music awards and how they do not guarantee success.
According to him, artistes in the industry should instead focus on measuring their success through their performance on digital streaming platforms. He said if critics fail to appreciate an artiste, numbers and dedicated fans will always come through.
“Awards isn’t the yardstick to success. Use your numbers to measure your achievements if they don’t recognize you, your numbers and your fan does,” the rapper tweeted.
The rapper went on to point out that a person has to be dogged to thrive in a country like Nigeria.
