Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi haa told his Iranian counterpart in a telephone call that the US should not “abuse force.”
He said instead America should seek solutions through dialogue.
Wang told Mohammad Javad Zarif, according to a statement by the Chinese foreign ministry, “The dangerous US military operation violates the basic norms of international relations and will aggravate regional tensions and turbulence.”
“China opposes the use of force in international relations. There is no way out for military means, nor for extreme pressure,” the ministry quoted Wang as saying.
Iranian top military leader, Maj.-Gen. Qassem Soleimani, Commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, was killed in a US airstrike on his convoy at Baghdad airport on Friday rising the tension of another World War.
The airstrike, which was an from US President Donald Trump, has since generated a lot of controversies and reactions from world leaders.
