The Celestial Church of Christ, CCC, Global has complied with the ban on public gathering by the Ogun State government.
In compliance with the ban, Prophet Israel Oladele Ogundipe, the Shepherd of CCC Genesis Global, cancelled the church’s services starting from Sunday.
Recall that the Ogun State government had banned public gathering of not more than 49 people, in a bid to contain COVID-19.
In a statement signed by his Media Office, Ogundipe urged members to stay home and join services online.
The statement reads: “CCC Genesis Global is critically adhering to the new policy of staying home during this phase of difficulty that is threatening the wellbeing of people all over the world.
“On 19 March, due to the increase in Coronavirus pandemic outbreak, the Ogun State government issued a circular instructing its citizens to stay off large gatherings
“This policy has necessitated the need to address the congregation both home and abroad, lovers of God and his Church Celestial Church of Christ Genesis Global on why the stay home policy imposed by the Ogun State Government due to the global pandemic. Coronavirus (COVID-19), ravaging the world should be obeyed.
“To adhere to the stay at home policy of the government, as preventive measures to tame the pandemic ravaging the world, our services starting from Sunday 22nd will be held online on all our social media handles until further notice from the government. This measure is intended to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.”
Urging all members of the church to “stay calm and be more prayerful in these times of challenges,” Prophet Ogundipe assured that “God’s words promise sure protections that are unrivalled.”
