Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara has reacted to reports that Abba Kyari, Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari and Gov Bala Mohammed tested positive for COVID-19.
DAILY POST had reported that Abba Kyari reportedly tested positive for COVID-19.
According to the report, the President was also tested for the disease on Monday but his result came out negative.
Sources at the presidency said the test for the President became necessary after Kyari who had visited Germany on Saturday, March 7th tested positive for COVID-19.
Also a statement by Mukhtar M. Gidado Senior Special Assistant (Media) to Gov Bala on Tuesday confirmed he is presently being quarantined after his result came out positive.
Gidado said that the governor’s test was the only positive result out of six initial tests carried out by Nigeria Centre for Diseases Control (NCDC) on his family and aides.
Reacting on Twitter, Dogara prayed for Governor Bala and Abba Kyari’s quick recovery.
Replying to a tweet by Gov Bala he wrote, “My brother, I have tried unsuccessfully to reach you after hearing of the devastating news.
“You, Malam Abba Kyari and all those affected are in our prayers. May God take control and bring healing like he has done for many. Wishing you all quick recovery.”
