The Kwara State Government Wednesday, ordered the closure of mosques and churches across the state effective from Thursday (tomorrow) as part of the measures aimed at curtailing the spread of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic in the state.
Deputy Governor of the state, Mr. Kayode Alabi, gave the directive Wednesday in a chat with newsmen in Ilorin the state capital.
To ensure full compliance of the order, he said security agents will be on ground.
The Deputy Governor said “there should be no movement of commercial vehicles, social gatherings, while motor parks in the state have also been closed down.”
Mr. Alabi said fast foods will, however, be allowed to operate but will be takeaways, urging Kwarans to adhere to the directive of the state government in the efforts to curb the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic in the state.
