President Idriss Deby of the Republic of Chad on Thursday, visited the Multinational Joint Task Force (MJTF).
Colonel Timothy Antigha, MNJTF Chief of Public Information, made this known in a statement on Friday.
He noted that Deby was at the Sector 2 in Baga Sola Island along the border with Nigeria.
Boko Haram on Tuesday, killed 92 Chadian soldiers.
Earlier, the sect killed scores of Nigerian soldiers.
The statement said in his remarks, Deby offered “strategic guidance to ramp up the tempo of operations against the terrorists”.
Force Commander, Major General Ibrahim Manu Yusuf, thanked the President for the visit and counsel.
He assured that the MNJTF will execute operations professionally and diligently in order to speedily bring peace to the Lake Chad Basin.
The Force is a joint formation of military units from Benin, Cameroon, Chad, Niger, and Nigeria.
Headquartered in N’Djamena, it is mandated to end the Boko Haram insurgency.
Boko Haram is led by Abubakar Shekau. The United States in 2012 designated him a Global Terrorist and offered $7million for information that could lead to his capture.
