The Lagos State Government has confirmed 13 new cases of coronavirus in the state.
Prof. Akin Abayomi, Commissioner of Health in the state made the confirmation via his Twitter handle, on Friday.
Abayomi disclosed that the 13 new cases now brings the total number of those infected in the state to 158.
He also affirmed that seven patients who have fully recovered have been discharged.
According to Abayomi: “#COVID19Lagos Update as at 9th of April, 2020
“13 new cases of #COVID19 confirmed, bringing total confirmed cases in Lagos to 158.
“On a positive note, 7 fully recovered #COVID19 patients were discharged.
“3 of the 7 discharged cases are foreign nationals, 2 Ukrainians, 1 Italian, the rest are Nigerians. Total number of discharged cases are now 39.
“Lagos can #BeatCOVID19 If we all #TakeResponsibility by practicing #SocialDistancing.”
Recall that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, had yesterday confirmed 14 new cases of Coronavirus across the country.
Out of the 14 new cases, Lagos State recorded 13.
