Fear on Wednesday gripped Nigerians, especially residents of Lagos State as the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, announced the country recorded 117 new cases of coronavirus.
NCDC had in its tweet said it recorded 59 in Lagos, 14 in Kano, 29in FCT, 6 in Borno, 4 in Katsina, 31 in Ogun, 1 in Bauchi and 1 in Rivers.
Reacting, Nigerians took to the social media to pray for God’s intervention. Some residents in Lagos while expressing sadness over the insecurity in the State, wondered how the State went from 0 to 59 in 24 hours.
Here are some comments DAILY POST gathered:
@tolutezzy, “NCDC allowed us to celebrate about no case in Lagos yesterday, today they are now reporting 59 in Lagos. Is it that they combined yesterday’s figures with today’s results?”
@Realdreyo, “117 new cases today, total of 59 in Lagos only, then we still have 1 million boys Ati 300 million boys coming together to fight each other. ”
@lambobranding, “59 in Lagos, the fact is that Nigeria has not tested enough. And the question is why haven’t we tested enough? Look at a very small country like Ghana, they have tested more than we have done.”
