President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday reacted to the death of the wife of former Inspector General of Police and Chairman, Police Service Commission, Alhaji Musiliu Smith.
Buhari prayed to God to comfort the former Inspector General on the irreparable loss of his wife, Ariat Smith.
The President in a condolence message released by his spokesman, Mr. Femi Adesina urged Smith to take heart at the passage of his wife whom he described as a dutiful mother.
“We trust she has returned to her Maker after a worthy life.
“As human beings, it will naturally be painful. But our trust in Almighty Allah is unshaken, and it is from Him we come, and to Him, we return.
”Please be comforted,” the president added.
Ariat Smith died on Friday at the age of 69 and has been buried according to Muslim rites.
