Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Tuesday confirmed another twenty-three (23) new cases of Coronavirus in the state.
Makinde, who doubles as the head of the state’s COVID-19 task force stated this in a series of tweets on his verified Twitter account on Tuesday.
The governor said the cases are from Ibadan South East (5), Lagelu (5), Oluyole (4), Ibadan North (2), Ido (2), Egbeda (2), Akinyele (1), Ona Ara (1) and Ibadan South West (1) Local Government Areas.
Makinde said, “The COVID-19 confirmation tests for twenty-three suspected cases came back POSITIVE. The cases are from Ibadan South East (5), Lagelu (5), Oluyole (4), Ibadan North (2), Ido (2), Egbeda (2), Akinyele (1), Ona Ara (1) and Ibadan South West (1) Local Government Areas.
“So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State today is 387”.
The governor thanked the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) for the donation of medical supplies.
He thanked all other organisations and individuals who have supported the state’s effort to contain COVID-19.
Makinde while speaking further advised residents to call the Emergency Operations Centre if they notice any COVID-19 symptoms: cough, fever, tiredness, body ache and shortness of breath.
