A group of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) known as Civil Society Groups for Truth, Justice and Good Governance have said they have no intention of taking Zamfara State government to court over sacking the fourteen Local Government council chairmen, contrary to speculations in the state.
This was disclosed to newsmen in Gusau, the state capital by the State Speaker, Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN), Abdulwasiu Mahmud.
Abdulwasiu explained that the resolution of the Zamfara State House of Assembly which terminated their tenure of the council chairmen was a decision that was widely accepted by the citizens of the State.
‘We were surprised when we began to hear speculations by some media houses that one Munnir Haidara Kaura had threatened to drag Zamfara State Government to court on behalf of Civil Society Organisations he falsely claims to represents.”
“It is true that Munnir Haidara Kaura is on the side of the opposition making a grand strategy to ensure that Zamfara State government does not make a caricature of the resolution of the Zamfara State House of Assembly” he lamented.
The group, therefore, urged all opposition elements to remain resolute to ensure capital, social, economic and political developments, advising them to shun all forms of unholy activities capable of derailing the current political system.
