Jigawa state government has said it will close all its COVID-19 isolation centers in the state on Monday.
Chairman of the state COVID-19 task force also Commissioner of Health, Dr. Abba Zakari disclosed this to DAILY POST.
He said the development followed the discharge of another eleven patients in the state.
Zakari said the state currently has only eight coronavirus patients in all its isolation centres.
“Five of the patients are in Fanisau’s isolation centre, two in Infectious disease centre and one in Rasheed Shekoni isolation center”
“Due to the decreasing number of COVID-19 patients in the state, the state would combine all the patients in its infectious disease center,” he stated.
“Fanisau and Rasheed Shekoni’s isolation centers would temporarily be closed on Monday.”
The chairman explained that out of the 317 COVID-19 cases recorded in the state since April, 257 patients have recovered and discharged from the isolation centers.
He said a total of nine patients died due to the pandemic.
