The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, has announced that the state will no longer reopen religious centres.
Mosques and Churches in the state were earlier scheduled to reopen Friday (today)
Governor Abiodun said it became imperative for state to continue with the ban in the face of the rise in the community transmission and spread of COVID-19.
The governor made the announcement at a press conference in Abeokuta, the State capital on Friday.
Lagos State had earlier in the suspended its plan to reopen religious centres.
Abiodun announced that “the current ease of lockdown from Monday to Friday is still in force while residents are expected to stay indoors on Saturdays and Sundays.”
He read the riot act on further flaunting of the laid down directives by the people of the state.
He said that the ban on interstate-travel is still on.
