Nasarawa Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has commiserated with the family of ex-Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, over the killing of his nephew and niece by gunmen.
Sule visited Gudi, in Akwanga Local Government Area, to condole with the family on Thursday.
The governor vowed that violent crimes in the state would be crushed.
Sule said the meeting of 70 traditional rulers, heads of security agencies and community leaders, held on Wednesday in Lafia, was part of government efforts.
He prayed to God to grant the souls of the deceased officer and his sister rest.
Maku, on behalf of the family, thanked the governor for the visit.
On Tuesday, assailants stormed the Gudi residence of Usman Salisu-Maku, elder brother to the former minister and killed his son and daughter, Salisu Usman, and Sa’adatu Usman.
Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer in Nasarawa, said Salisu was a Superintendent in the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).
He was serving in Nasarawa, while Sa’adatu was a pharmacist.
The gunmen also took away Asma’u Usman, wife of the deceased officer.
