The Benue State House of Assembly Speaker, Mr. Titus Uba, and his last son has tested positive for the deadly coronavirus disease.
The Chief press secretary to the Speaker, Lubiem Tiav disclosed this to newsmen on Sunday.
Tiav said samples from Mr. Uba and four Assembly members were taken by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
He also said that Mr. Uba’s household was tested. However, when the results returned only the Speaker and his last son tested positive for the virus.
According to him, modalities have been put in place to get all Assembly members and staff tested to ascertain their status due to the recent development.
He also advised that anyone who might have come in contact with the Speaker within the last week should submit themselves for tests.
