The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reacted to the death of President Muhammadu Buhari’s closed ally, Malam Isa Funtua.
PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan said Funtua would be remembered for his role in developing Nigeria and as a former Minister of Water Resources.
DAILY POST had reported that Funtua died of cardiac arrest on Monday.
Reacting, Ologbondiyan commiserated with Buhari over the death of his long-time friend and associate.
Ologbondiyan, in a statement, said Funtua “would be remembered for the role he played towards the development of our nation including his contributions as a minister of the Federal Republic, an outstanding publisher and life patron of the International Press Institute (IPI) and the Newspapers Proprietors Association of Nigeria (NPAN).”
He also condoled with the family of the deceased, the media industry as well as the government and people of Katsina State.
The PDP’s spokesman prayed that God to grant eternal rest to the faithful departed.
