The Governor Dapo Abiodun-led government of Ogun State has confirmed eight new cases of the novel coronavirus.
In a statement on Twitter, Wednesday, Ogun government said 14 patients were also discharged on Tuesday.
With this, it was said that the state now has 1,326 confirmed COVID-19 cases, out of which 1,068 have been discharged after testing negative.
As of Wednesday morning, Ogun State has 277 active cases being managed.
However, 23 persons have been killed by the virus in Ogun.
“As part of the total 1326 COVID-19 cases confirmed since February in Ogun State, 8 new cases were recorded on 28th July, 2020.
“These new cases bring to 277, the number of active cases currently being managed by health authorities, even as 14 cases were discharged, making 1068, the total number of discharged cases.
“Ogun State has recorded a total of 23 related deaths,” it was stated.
