Co-convener of BringBackOurGirls, Aisha Yesufu, has lampooned Festus Keyamo over a comment on Twitter.
The Minister of State for Labour and Employment had criticized those he suggested were taking sides on Nigerian issues.
On Saturday, Keyamo said their moral assertions were all political views
He tweeted: “The hypocrites amongst us are those who claim to be politically non-aligned, but curiously and constantly make excuses for those in one political party whilst always vilifying others. Their so-called moral postulations are nothing but carefully packaged and veiled political views.”
Responding, Aisha stated that the lawyer had changed.
She reminded the minister how he accepted to handle cases of human rights violation free of charge.
Aisha tweeted: “Sadly my brother, that is now you. I remember a time I would without hesitation call you to tell you of human rights violations and you would immediately ask your firm to take it on pro bono. Today in govt, those human rights violations are happening & you are focused on 774k jobs.”
Under the Special Public Works Programme, 1,000 Nigerians are to be employed from each of the 774,000 local government areas.
But the take-off of the scheme has not been smooth amid opposition by the National Assembly and some states.
In June, a meeting of Senate/Reps Joint Committee on Labour with Keyamo ended abruptly after a shouting match.
Rivers State Government pulled out of the programme early August.
