Former Senator Representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Shehu Sani has condemned the attacks, killings and abduction of innocent people in Kagara town, the headquarters of Rafi local government area of Niger State.
In his official Facebook page, Senator Sani said, “The attacks, killings and abductions in Kagara town headquarters of Rafi Local Government stand unreservedly condemned”.
The former lawmaker said it was unacceptable and inexcusable that such a town hitherto considered to be safe and secure can easily fall into the hands of armed bandits.
He lamented that it is now incontrovertible that the east of the Niger was now as vulnerable and dangerous as most parts of Zamfara, Katsina and Kaduna State.
“How can bandits operate freely for hours without an immediate counter by the security and defence forces?
“How many more need to die or be abducted before the conscience of those in the position of power is touched?
“When will security meetings after security meetings translate to security and safety of our people?
“Who will cater for the orphans and widows left behind?
“Who will pay the ransom for those abducted?”, he queried.
