Chuks Ibegbu, the spokesman of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has stated that its endorsement of the candidate of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, in the just concluded February 23 presidential election, was not meant to fight President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress administration.
He said that the leadership of Ohanaeze has not changed its demand for the restructuring of Nigeria.
Ibegbu, the Deputy National publicity secretary of the apex Igbo body, who stated this in an interview with DAILY POST on Wednesday, said the apex Igbo body bore no grudges against the buhari -led administration
His words, “Let me tell you, Ohanaeze is not fighting Buhari . We have no reason for that. What we want is to make this country a better place for our children and other Nigerians. It’s not about Buhari.
“We believe, restructured Nigeria will bring peace and progress in the country. Ohanaeze various organs will meet soon to take stock of the election and react appropriately.
“The just concluded election is a great worry to all patriots. Unless we have free and fair election, we can never make progress as a nation, as crooks and hoodlums will continue to emerge and design our fate and future.
“It is a big problem, which all Nigerians must find solution to. Do or die politics, which created the crisis in the judiciary, INEC, security agencies over election issues, is the bane of our nation.
“Nigerians must shun religion, ethnicity and save the nation from political and economic vampires.”
